To celebrate the Erasmus Programme 30th anniversary, the European Commission along with the European University Foundation and the Erasmus Student Network have decided to mark the occasion by launching the Erasmus+ App.
The European Commission is the executive body of the European Union which initiates action in the European Union, proposing new laws, managing EU policies and allocating EU finding. The Erasmus+ programme, one of its most famous and successful actions, was established in 1987. Its purpose is to support education, training, youth and sport in Europe. With a current budget of €14.7 billion for the framework of 2014-2020, the Erasmus+ programme has already given the opportunity to more than 9 million Erasmus+ participants to go mobile and gain experience abroad.
European University Foundation
The European University Foundation is a network of prestigious universities in Europe, which aims to accelerate the modernisation of the European Higher Education Area, and to advocate for a substantial increase of the quantity and quality of student mobility.
Erasmus Student Network
The Erasmus Student Network is the key volunteer student organization in international higher education in Europe. Its mission is to represent international students, thus provide opportunities for cultural understanding and self-development under the principle of Students Helping Students, through its 530 local sections present in 40 countries.
