CAYAGZI VILLAGE – BARATTA/BARETTA ANCIENT CITY

The name of the ancient settlement in the place where Elbi Neighborhood of today's Çayağzı Village is located was Baratta/Baretta.The priest of the Baratta (Elbi) Church also attended the IV.Clergy Council convened by the Byzantine Emperor Marcianus in Istanbul (Kadıköy) in 451.
