STEINERT PALACE
The palace of the Steinert brothers, sons of Adolf, was built in the years 1909-1911 according to the design of the Berlin architect Alfred Balcke in a style reminiscent of the North German Renaissance. This choice was to demonstrate and emphasize the nationality of the Steinert family. Above the entrances there are symbols of the owners' textile profession - a figure of a spinner surrounded by an industrial motif of a cogwheel.
The palace was intended for two families. Hence its symmetrical facade and two gates. The building is a two-story building with a mansard, a mansard roof, with volutes framed at the tops. In 2017-2019, the building underwent renovation. It turned from ruin into a pearl of Łódź. The building was rebuilt, painted and decorated at various times, during the renovation, original elements of the palace were revealed: gilding, stucco, inlays, traces of polychrome, and most often pieces of fabrics filling the paneling.
